MOUNTAIN SIGNATURE SERIES | MT.RITTER

The mountain signature series is a collection of rings inspired by our love and gratitude for the mountains. Engraved in the crowns of these rings are the coordinates of our favorite peaks in the Eastern Sierras of California. We are beginning the series with Mt. Ritter. With each ring we release, our mission is to take the first one out of production and leave it on the mountain's summit as an invitation for others to experience the backcountry and enjoy a little treasure hunt along the way. We left the ring in the log box at the top of Mt. Ritter on May 12th, 2015 for the next adventure seeker. If you follow the coordinates and embark on this amazing journey, please take the ring. If it's already gone, we promise you won't be disappointed because journey is the treasure!

All forms of outdoor recreation have a higher level of risk than most ordinary activities, and therefore can be potentially hazardous and/or dangerous. This includes hiking and backpacking. Risk is always a factor in backcountry and high-mountain travel, especially when weather is adverse or unpredictable, or when unforeseen events or conditions create a hazardous condition. There are many other risks, both natural and/or man-made, that could lead to injury or death while traveling in backcountry wilderness.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of the viewers of this website to learn the necessary skills for safe hiking and backcountry travel. All participants must assume responsibility for their own actions and safety, exercise sound judgment, be prepared for all wilderness conditions, and seek advice on current weather and current trail conditions. Mountain and backcountry conditions change from day to day, and from season to season, therefore rendering any information on this website subject to change without warning.

Hiking in the Eastern Sierras presents visitors with a number of potentially dangerous and lethal hazards, including lightning storms, snow fields and altitude sickness. The area is also home to mountain lions and black bears, among many other potentially dangerous wildlife. Our Hiking Safety Tips page points out many of the hazards that hikers could potentially encounter, with links to more detailed information.
